Refresh
The Meta Quest VR headsets have always been a relatively affordable entry into virtual reality and now the 128GB version has dropped to a better price than Black Friday 2025.
In fact, it was the same AU$418 from Black Friday at about 9:30am this morning (Monday, December 22), but Amazon has since shaved off another AU$8.01 off that price, so it’s now just AU$409.99. In even better news, if you order now, you might get it delivered to you on Christmas Eve, depending on where you live.
If you’re after a thoughtful Christmas gift for a gamer or you’ve been keen to try VR gaming yourself, it doesn’t get better than this.
Hurry, Meta Quest 3S deals like this don’t last very long.
Meta Quest 3S (256GB): AU$499.99 AU$409.99 on Amazon
We’re just days away from Christmas Eve, and while the festive spirit is in full swing, the reality of forgotten shopping has hit. If you’re looking to capitalise on Boxing Day sales in Australia, there are still some excellent ways to score those last-minute deals before Christmas day.
1. Shop on Amazon or Kogan
Amazon is the easiest option here but please note that at this time, even metro areas that are typically able to get same-day delivery may not be able to do so, depending on the product you’re after. There are still, however, many items with same- or next-day delivery on Amazon. Kogan, too, is offering expedited delivery at this time.
2. Consider same- or next-day delivery options
Some stores, like JB Hi-Fi, offer on-demand delivery through services such as Uber. This can be a lifesaver if you find a deal you love and want it delivered straight to your door without waiting. JB Hi-Fi offers two types of Uber deliveries in metro areas:
ASAP Delivery: Your order will be delivered within 90 minutes to 2 hours of placing it.
Scheduled Delivery: If available, you can select a 2-hour delivery window during the store’s operating hours.
Eligibility: Orders must be placed within 20km of a store offering Uber delivery. Available 7 days a week from store opening until 2 hours before closing time.
3. Opt for in-store pickup or click-and-collect
The smartest move, if you spot a deal on our curated Boxing Day sales page, is to order online for in-store pickup. Why? This ensures the item is in stock before you brave the retail madness. Plus, your order will be ready and waiting for you to collect, saving you time and stress. Most major retailers offer this option, making it an ideal way to shop.
What to do about Amazon bargains
If the deal you’ve spotted is on Amazon but delivery isn’t feasible, don’t give up. Check physical stores like JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys for the same product. These retailers often match or closely align with Amazon’s pricing, especially during major sales events like Boxing Day. You might just find the same item for a comparable price (or less if The Good Guys will price beat) and with the added bonus of immediate availability.
An easy Pill to swallow
I was very excited when the new Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker launched in 2024, but I held off for a discount. Sadly, it never saw one, even during Black Friday or Boxing Day last year, but it looks like JB Hi-Fi has permanently dropped the ticket price.
That means this lovely little Bluetooth speaker can now be had for just AU$179 in all colours. I haven’t listed it as a deal on this page as this seems to be its standard price now.
The updated model has better sound, better battery and better dust- and waterproofing too. The only thing that could stop some users from swallowing this tasty Pill is the lack of an equaliser, so you’re stuck with the sound it makes. Which, let me tell you, is good. So it may not be a deal breaker at all.
