As a keen runner, I’ve worn and reviewed a lot of running shoes, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Saucony’s Ride series. All-rounder shoes perfect for the everyday runner just looking to get plenty of miles in without needing any technical performance tweaks or hugely expensive super-shoes. I’ve been wearing Saucony Rides since the Ride 14, and loved the range as it evolved.

They’re just great all-rounder shoes. I’ve certainly found that true in my experience with the Ride series: I used them for 3-4km runs around my local park, all the way up to half-marathons, and the shoe handled everything with aplomb. I’d certainly have no qualms running a marathon in these, and I might just get myself a pair for 2026’s racing season.

It’s not light enough for serious performance racing, not waterproof enough for muddy, wet trails, and not thick enough for intense ultramarathon long-distance training. But if you’re after a mid-distance shoe that’s good at everything in moderation, this is it. It’s the best running shoe for most people.
