Dreading the coming summer heat? Vornado has a range of powerful fans with up to 47% off

Australia has already had a blistering September and October, with temps not far behind last year’s record hottest spring. Summer is shaping up to be a scorcher too, so staying cool is something worth thinking about now.

To help survive summer heat waves, a powerful fan is must-have. Handily, for Prime Day in October, Vornado has some big discounts on Amazon for their range of air circulators, from small and affordable, to large and powerful.

The compact Vornado 460 air circulator is a great option for apartments, but there’s also a medium Vornado 633 model, plus the big Vornado 660 for serious cooling. Or grab the Energy smart model with a DC motor to help keep running costs down.

But most importantly, all these models are on sale at Amazon, with discounts of up to 47%.

Here at TechRadar Australia we love the Vornado fans and many of us have bought them during previous sales. I especially like this style of fan as they work well to push cooler air down the hallway into the bedrooms in my house.

My colleague Max uses the small Vornado 460 fan (currently AU$94.05, down from AU$179) in his main living space and uses it as directional air flow as opposed to full room coverage. He favours positioning it close to the air flow that comes from his air conditioning unit, and says it’s able to push colder air throughout the room.

Which is exactly how air circulators are meant to function, and we have a great article on air circulators vs fans that goes into more depth on this.

I also use the white medium 633 Vornado in my bedroom, and as a light sleeper, I appreciate that it runs quietly enough to stay on all night. Another colleague uses the larger 660 air circulator (AU$169, down from AU$279) at home and loves the powerful airflow it creates.

Amazon currently has the lowest prices I can find for Vornado fans, so if your home is in need of some cooling down, I can’t recommend them enough.
