Amazon Prime Day sales run from October 7-8, but excellent deals on some of this year’s best TVs are already happening. I’ve checked the early sales at Amazon and spotted deals for three great 65-inch TVs in particular: the Samsung QN90F, selling for $1,597.99; the Hisense U8QG, for $999.99; and the TCL QM8K, for $997.99.
Each of those deals is a record-low price for a TV that TechRadar has reviewed and rated highly. It’s possible that they could drop even further during Prime Day, but as someone who has covered Prime Day sales events for more than three years, I’d bet that further discounts, if any, are likely to be minor.
What these three TVs share in common is a powerfully bright mini-LED backlight, along with an anti-reflection screen for daytime viewing. They also all have great gaming support, with refresh rates of up to 165Hz. I’d happily live with any one of these as my main TV, and as a TV reviewer, I’m professionally fussy about picture quality.
Amazon Prime Day mini-LED TV deals
The Samsung QN90F is the company’s flagship mini-LED, and along with having great overall picture quality, earning five out of five stars in our Samsung QN90F review, it features the company’s Glare Free screen tech, which makes even dark images look good in bright room lighting. It’s also a powerhouse for gaming, with four HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 165Hz support and Samsung’s Gaming Hub for cloud-based gaming.
Hisense U8QG series TVs have up to 5,600 local dimming zones, which let them deliver images with pristine blacks and powerful contrast. They also support Dolby Vision and HDR10+ high dynamic range, and have a 165Hz refresh rate for gaming.
With the TCL QM8K, you’re getting a TV with high brightness and TCL’s Halo Control System, which delivers deep, uniform blacks. Its anti-reflection screen and ultra-wide-angle feature also make it perfect for watching sports, and the built-in sound on this TV is powerful enough that you can get away with not using a soundbar.
